Yesterday at about noon I decided to start a new type of training for me. And I wrote about it. Then got completely overwhelmed. True, nobody but me knew my plan or read my blog and yes I still am the only one reading this...is it weird I am just talking to myself? but nonetheless I felt like I had an obligation I needed to keep.
So after work- with some very strong resistance- I went to the gym. And I stalked the treadmills until 1 became available. And I ran. Well, I ran according to what the Couch to 5K app says to run, which is 1.5 minutes of walking with 1 minute runs in between. So people were probably judging me, but you know what? Didn't care.
And then I went to dinner with some friends and did the unthinkable- I ordered iced tea instead of wine and a kale and spinach salad (delicious, by the way). At one point one of the girls asked if I wanted a fry and I declined. Now this is not a normal occurrence for me, so I had to confess my new plan. And as soon as I said 5K, they asked which race I was training for. "Well, not a race, per se, but just to try a new program". This, apparently, is not an acceptable answer. So now I am training for the Kansas City Marathon 5K which is exactly 9 weeks away. It fits my timeline too perfect for me to say no to, and now I really have a goal to work towards.
This morning I woke up a little early and did a Tone it Up routine. Tonight will be CT5K Day 2. See, I am following through!
